Selecting a photographer is one of the most important aspects
of your wedding. When looking for a San Diego wedding photographer,
ask the following questions:
Is the wedding photographer based in San Diego?
It is important to see a wedding photographer's work, so selecting
a local San Diego based photographer is highly recommended.
How many years of experience does the wedding photographer
has?
Obviously, more is better, but quality of workmanship is even
more crucial. Ask to see samples and porfolio of past work.
Approximately how many weddings does the photographer do
each year?
A photographer who shoots the wedding - not an "assistant"
- is what you're looking for. Be cautious of studios that photograph
multiple weddings the same week or completed 8 weddings in the
last month. These studios are more like factories and offer less
personal attention, furhtermore the wedding will be photograped
by one of the studios many "associate photographer".
Are you the person who will photograph my wedding?
Again, you want the photographer taking the pictures, not one
of the studios many "associate photographer".
What percentage of your photography is dedicated to
weddings?
Most wedding photographers shoot other types of photography to
supplement their income, the keyword here is supplement. All types of photography your photographer does is like adding experience and practice toward your wedding day.
Does your photographer have a professional studio?
At this time there is no studio space available because most of our clients want to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings of San Diego for their photography. Please call to make an appointment
first: 866-764-3686 toll free or 619-284-3686 local .
What type of equipment does your the wedding photographer
uses?
The choice of camera, lens, and lighting equipment should be discussed
with your photographer to make sure the equipment is appropiate
for the venue.
Does the photographer bring backup equipment with him?
The experienced photographer will always bring backup of all essential
equipment and supplies. The equipment will also be tested charged and ready before the
actual shoot.
Does the photographer have liability insurance?
Though it is very rare that a wedding will require the use of
liablity insurance, it is better to be safe than sorry.
Does the photographer take studio portraits?
Don has the capability of creating a studio with all the required equipment to take studio portriats anywhere.
What is the payment policy of the photographer?
Make sure you get this in writing, and keep all records of payments
and transactions. Remeber, it's much easier to work with a payment
schedule so you know what the services will cost.
What is your cancellation policy of the photographer?
Most photographers offer a cancellation policy, find out what
is required and when this must be done by.
Does your wedding photographer offer a money-back guarantee?
Don offers a money-back guarantee because he is 100% confident
you'll love his work! How many other photographers offer this?
Where in San Diego has the photographer worked?
San Diego offers some of the most dramatic sceneries for capturing
your memories, both natural and achitectual. Don has photographed
weddings all over San Diego County. Here are some of his favorite
locations:
Cuvier Park, also called The Wedding Bowl, is a small park located at Coast Blvd and Cuvier Street in La Jolla. It is located directly across the street from the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art. The park site is about five steps below street level so it is hard to see from the street. It is the most popular spot for weddings along the La Jolla Coastline.
Mission
Bay - Nestled just sout ot Pacific Beach, this laid back inlet
is also home to some of the nicest hotels and resorts to have
your wedding at, like the Bahia
Resort, the
Dana on Mission Bay, The
Catamaran, and Paradise
Point Resorts. Don has photographed weddings at all the above
resorts and says they are all highly recommended.
Sunset
Cliffs - From the dramatic to the serene, Sunset Cliffs in
Point Loma offers both in spades. The sunset are often spectacular
and the high setting offers the Pacific Ocean's vastness as a
backdrop, you couldn't ask for a better setting.
Balboa Park - Located in the heart of San Diego, historic and world-famous
Balboa Park offers just that, a world of potentials. From the
Spanish inspired architecture to the Japanese garden, and less
popular Australia garden, all surrounded by unique buildings,
Roman columns, water fountains, open theaters, museums, and long
walkways, you too will find this place memorable.
